A doula is a trained non-medical birth support person who provides continuous emotional, physical and informational support during pregnancy, birth, and the early postpartum period. Their role is to help the family feel safe, informed, and supported by offering reassurance, comfort measures, advocacy support and clear explanations so choices can be made with confidence. Doulas do not replace medical providers or make clinical decisions; instead, they focus on the human experience of birth, supporting both the body and soul, and helping families feel empowered, respected and cared for throughout the journey. *****DISCLAIMER*** Jaime very much supports non-medical home birth. Jaime's belief is that PREGNACY IS NOT A PATHOLOGY! Pathologies can very much arise from being pregnant, but pregnancy in of itself is not a pathology.
