Craniosacral Therapy
Description
Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on therapy that focuses on the movement of the craniosacral system—a network that includes the brain, spinal cord, cerebrospinal fluid, and surrounding membranes. Using light touch, typically no more than five grams of pressure, the therapist works to release restrictions and tension within this system, encouraging the body’s natural healing processes. CST is based on the idea that the body functions as an interconnected whole, and by supporting the central nervous system, it can help improve overall physical and emotional well-being. It’s often used to address a wide range of concerns, including headaches, chronic pain, stress, TMJ dysfunction, and trauma recovery. Unlike more forceful manual therapies, Craniosacral Therapy works with the body rather than on it, making it suitable even for those who are highly sensitive or recovering from illness or injury.
