What is Fascia?

Fascia is a thin layer of connective tissue that surrounds and holds every organ, blood vessel, bone, nerve fiber, and muscle in place. It’s like a web or sheet of fibrous tissue that helps support and protect different structures in your body. 

Healthy fascia is flexible and slippery, allowing your body to move easily. When it's damaged, inflamed, or dehydrated, it can become tight or sticky, leading to pain and restricted movement (this can happen in conditions like myofascial pain syndrome).

Fascia decompression is important because tight or restricted fascia can cause pain, limit movement, and disrupt normal body function. When fascia becomes stiff or "bound down"—often due to injury, inflammation, poor posture, stress, or lack of movement—it can affect not just the muscles, but also nerves, circulation, and even organ function.

Why Fascia Decompression Matters

Tight fascia can "glue" muscles together, limiting range of motion. Decompressing the fascia helps restore natural movement by allowing muscles and joints to glide freely again.
